How to: Have the perfect 'me time'

Sometimes, you just need some time for yourself. I don't think there is anything worse than feeling like you're so super busy with other things and other people that you don't have time for yourself. Because in fact, this is never true.

In my eyes, if you want to be productive and get things done and help other people you need to feel good in yourself. If you never take time for yourself then you will feel super crappy doing all of these things anyway!

So, I thought I would just tell you guys how I have some perfect me time because as much as we say we are all busy all the time, everyone has a spare half an hour in their day to themselves.

Step 1) I always feel a bath is a good start to "me time". There is no easier way for me to feel a bit more human than taking a nice, hot bubble bath with some nice music on.

Step 2) Do something to look after your appearance, whether that's a hair mask, face mask or even just moisturising it always makes me feel a hell of a lot better, and the best thing is it doesn't reallllly require that much effort so we can also be super lazy whilst doing it!

Step 3) Do something you enjoy. Like reading books? Read a book! Like playing games? Play a game! If you enjoy it, then do it for a bit.

Step 4) I know it's called "me time" but talking to friends and family you don't get to see much anymore can do you the world of good so pick up the phone and ring or open your laptop and videocall.

Step 5) Remember that TV show you started watching a few months back but never finished on Netflix before you started doing so much? FINISH IT. Take some time out and escape in a TV show. I do it all the time and I'm really not ashamed that when I'm really getting into "me time" I can binge for hours.

Do you have any "me time" rituals or suggestions? If so, tell me so I can give it a go, leave it in the comments!

Thank you for reading,

  1. I like those suggestions, I find myself doing the same old things all the time and getting stuck in a routine and neglect some of the things I really enjoy doing! The only thing I'd add to that is I usually get myself an indulgent drink (ie a hot chocolate with whipped cream) to drink whilst reading my book. It makes it seem a little more relaxing.
